Grounded in a commitment to social justice and excellence, Sirius strives for liberation and justice for all people.

SIRIUS BONNER IS…

As a Black, fat, queer, cis-woman, Sirius lives at the intersections of many identities. Her passions for Black liberation and racial justice, gender justice, and fat liberation all stem from her experience navigating oppressive systems. Through these experiences, she sharpened her intersectional analysis and dedicated herself to the fight for social justice and liberation for all.

Sirius is a co-host of The Body Trust Podcast, a new podcast focusing on body liberation and challenging diet culture. Across the country, Sirius is a noted speaker, trainer, facilitator, and coach. Her work was recognized in 2014 with the Compass Award for achievements in equity and inclusion efforts. Sirius has given keynotes, written incisive Op-Eds for newspapers, and was featured in an interview in Forbes.

Currently, Sirius is the Executive Director of INTERSECT, a nonprofit focused on intersectional gender justice in Oregon. Previously, Sirius brought her leadership and expertise to her role as Vice President of Equity and Inclusion at Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette. She was the Special Advisor to the President and Chief Equity and Diversity Officer at Clark College, directed diversity recruitment at PSU, and worked at Reed College as the Director of Multicultural Recruitment in admission, a major gift fundraiser, and coordinator for the Multicultural Resource Center. Sirius has also collaborated with a diverse group of organizations, including Planned Parenthood Federation of America and many Planned Parenthood affiliates across the country, Cascade AIDS Project, Meyer Memorial Trust, and the Center for Body Trust.

Sirius earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Reed College. She currently serves on the board of the North by Northeast Clinic and has previously been on the boards of The Women’s Foundation of Oregon, Seeding Justice (formerly MRG Foundation), Grantmakers of Oregon and SW Washington, and the alumni board of Reed College.

She helps leaders at all levels navigate the challenges of today's diverse workforce, build inclusive teams, and cultivate cultures of belonging.
